Your paper should be prepared according to AIAA Manuscript Preparation Kit. Please note that the paper can be no longer than 11 pages single column because this is a student competition. Masters Competition papers may have up to two student authors and list one faculty advisor as co-author.

Scoring category descriptions and range suggestions are listed here to aid you in reviewing the papers.

 

Technical Content
Are all major factors considered (correctness of theory, validity of the reasoning used, apparent understanding and grasp of subject, etc.) and a reasonably accurate evaluation of these facts made?

 

Suggested Ranges
Excellent 151-200
Good 101-150
Average 51-100
Poor 0-50

Originality
Is the paper just a compilation of standard textbook information, or does the author show independence of thinking or fresh approach to the subject? Is his subject a well-worn one, or does the choice and treatment of it show some imagination?

Highly original 61-100
Acceptable 21-60
Standard Information 0-20

Practical Application
Does the author reach conclusions or recommendations that are feasible and practical for use, or does he merely lead the audience into further difficult or insoluble questions?

Wide application 61-100
Limited Application 21-60
Little Practical Value 0-20

Style and Form
Is the paper written in commendable English and does it present the material clearly and in the good, acceptable form for technical papers?
